200RYT Training

The Barefoot Studio 200-hour teacher training meets and exceeds all requirements of a Yoga Alliance Certified program. Students perform in-depth practice and study of asana; teaching methods; anatomy and physiology; and Yoga philosophy, lifestyle and ethics. From Pranayama/breath to Vinyasa/flow, to Yin and restorative practice, students are expertly guided to new levels of understanding from which they may safely and confidently continue their Yogic journey while imparting knowledge to others.

Barefoot Studio Yoga School offers insight that cannot be found in even the most comprehensive study guides. Instructors with thousands of hours of education and experience deliver an enlightened perspective of practice, adjustments, and physiological response. Students are expertly guided through the process of letting go of fear, quieting the ego, and realizing their Dharma – what they are meant to bring to the mat and receptive yoginis. Those who seek to teach learn to draw those they are meant to reach, to recognize a student’s struggles or limitations, and encourage exploration of capabilities. Participants also receive direction on the often overlooked process of nurturing themselves to create a deep reservoir of health, patience, knowledge, and care from which to draw for their students.
Whether you seek to become a professional yogi, or just to gain a deeper understanding of the practice and philosophy, Barefoot Yoga training will lead you to recognize potential, explore abilities, find a yogic voice, and teach or practice with clarity and joy.

300 RYT: Awakening and Balancing the Chakras

This 30-day, 300 hour, Yoga Alliance-approved intensive is designed to provide the Sādhaka (seeker or aspirant) with an in-depth, practical, knowledge of the seven primary Chakras of the body: Muladhara (Root), Svadhishtana (sacral), Manipura (solar plexus), Anahata (heart), Vishuddha (throat), Anja (third eye), Sahasrara (crown). Students will learn to awaken the Kundalini (primal energy or Shakti) and guide it to or through each Chakra to provide physical, mental, and spiritual healing, strength, and balance. In-depth review of anatomy and physiology is complemented by study and practice of nourishment through Yin and Yang asana, Pranayama (breathing), meditation, and dietary and lifestyle practices. Students will be prepared to assess needs and instructed on sharing and applying practices within a practical teaching environment.

Course lecture and practicum follow the guidelines of Swami Saraswati of the Bihar School of Yoga (Munger, India) and the Kundalini Tantra method of awakening the chakras. Physical practice of traditional Hatha, Kundalini, and Yin (from the teachings of Paul Grilley, Bernie Clark and Susan Powers) asana will be explored from an intermediate to advanced level – beyond that presented in a 200 RYS program. Similarly, intensive exploration of breath control through ancient Pranayama and Kriya practices in conjunction with advancement of mantra, trataka, Nada, Japa, and Njana meditation methods are addressed. Throughout the program, students will learn and apply Shatkarmas (bodily purification) practice as well as dietary/culinary theory, preparation, and application. Upon completion of this intensive, students will be equipped to practically interweave knowledge and practice in these areas to cleanse, balance, and energize the body through the seven primary chakras.

 Testimonials

“It was a pleasure and a great experience to be Brianna Arndt student. The classes were very informative and vigorous, the place is perfect and our teacher amazing, warm, nurturing, fun, caring and of course full on knowledge. I loved the way she had us teach each other to gain confidence, I would never forget this experience and the people I meet during this training it reminds me again how yoga is for everybody and how we come together thru yoga. When I began this training I wasn’t sure if I wanted to teach but 2 weeks before certification I already have a job offer and I plan to teach on a community club. I feel confident and ready to teach and give my students a caring, safe place to nurture their bodies. I would recommend this training to anyone wanting to become a yoga teacher or just warning to get a deeper understanding on yoga.”

– Ivonne Lopez, 2014

“Brianna Arndt at the Barefoot Studio Yoga School is the best Yoga teacher; I am very proud to have received my certification through her. She is not only a Yoga teacher but a massage therapist, so the anatomy and movement is explained throughly and with reason. Brianna also embodies what Yoga is – about the mind, body and spirit. She practices what she teaches and is continually doing her own work. Brianna allowed us to start teaching parts of actual classes, with other students, from the third week. Teaching that early in the program was an invaluable experience, it helped boost my confidence, and learn from my mistakes. The anatomy portion of the schooling was fantastic! I loved expanding my knowledge of the human body and learning Sanskrit! All the teachers were very knowledgable and added so much to my practice. I am grateful to have learned so much more through the workshops offered by some of the other teachers. I am so excited about the new journey as a yoga teacher and Barefoot Studio Yoga School helped give me the tools I will need to take that journey safely and confidently.”

– Mary, 2014

“I’m so happy I attended Barefoot Studio’s yoga teacher training! Brianna really knows her stuff and is eager to share her knowledge. I felt that all facets of this program were thorough, and any area that she, the lead instructor, didn’t feel confident in teaching were supplemented with workshops taught by yogis with more expertise. Upon registering, I doubted that I’d be ready to lead my own yoga class but now I’m excited to find work as a certified instructor. Thanks to Brianna & Barefoot Studio for making it possible!”

– Mary Loomis, 2014

“Brianna is, without question, one of the brightest lights in Tucson’s yoga teaching community. Her teaching is inspiring and challenging, providing her students with a safe space to explore one’s natural talent as a teacher. I completed her program forever changed with the confidence and knowledge that I can make a genuine impact in people’s lives. Thank you so much Brianna for your love, wisdom, honesty, and passion. I will treasure it always.”
